Community Engagement Assistant (Part-time) to the EBA Project

PROVISION OF SERVICES

The GOS-UNDP-GEF Programme Coordination Unit is implementing an Adaptation Fund project Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EBA) to Climate Change in Seychelles. The PCU is currently seeking experienced consultants to carry out the following assignment:

Community Engagement Assistant (Part-time) to the EBA Project

Work is expected to commence in September 2019 for a period of 1 year, ending in September 2020.

General Qualifications/Experience and Skills Required

  • Trained in, or have, a good knowledge of plant identification in the Seychelles
  • Experience in designing and conducting surveys, in using a GPS device, as well as the ability to analyse data and report on findings.
  • A track record of environmental work in the Seychelles and the ability to undertake field work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work and communicate well with people
  • The ability to write concise reports in English, to document field trip and project activities.
  • IT proficient in Microsoft word, excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous working experiences with communities will be an advantage.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) and Creole (spoken) essential.
