Principal Secretary for Energy and Climate Change
Main Role: Principle Secretary for Energy and Climate Change in the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change and the Chair of the Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) steering committee, which is the process management arm of the MSP. He is also the UNFCCC National Focal Point for Seychelles
Expertise: His main domaine of expertise are meteorology and Climate Change Mitigation, Adaptation and International Climate Change Negotiations. Has held and served in several key posts in Government including Permanent Representative of Seychelles with WMO and Director General for Climate and Environment Services Division and became Principal Secretary of Environment and Energy in 2012 till 2015 when he was appointed as Principal Secretary for Energy and Climate Change till to date. He was chairperson of the National Climate Change Committee and Seychelles Energy Board. Furthermore, he served on several boards of national importance such as the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority and Seychelles Sustainable Development Strategy. Represented Seychelles at several International Meetings on Climate Change Negotiations (UNFCCC, COP, SBI, SBSTA etc..) from 2002 to date. Represented Seychelles at several International Meetings on Tropical Meteorology, Oceanography and Disaster Risk Management for the past thirty years.
Education: Master in Tropical Meteorology at Ecole Nationale de la Meteorologie, Toulouse, France and attended several trainings in meteorology at University of Miami, ILO Institute and UNESCO. Trained in Climate Change negotiations and administration
