The Ministry of Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment is inviting the public from Mahe, Praslin and La Digue, to register for the Aldabra Giant Land Tortoise census 2022. Due to Covid-19, the Ministry is implementing a new strategy for registrations, owners are requested to register by filling out an application which will be available on our online platform; Facebook Page and Website; www.meecc.gov.sc . Kindly note registration will be open untill September 2021.

Whale sharks aren't actually whales. They get the name whale solely because of their size. The whale shark is actually the largest species of any fish ever recorded,
Along with many other sharks, whale sharks are deliberately caught for their fins, meat and oil.

Their ocean home are extremely under threat from things like climate change and plastic pollution, which they could quite easily get entangled in or ingest.

Their global population habe decreased by more than 50% in the last 75 years, and has landed them on the IUCN Red List as being Globally Endangered.

Today marks one year since Seychelles declared 30% of its ocean territory as protected under the National Parks and Nature Conservancy Act. To celebrate this accomplishment Mr. James Dupres and his team from the James Dupres multimedia consultancy prepared a series of pictures and digital content to promote this great achievement. In a small ceremony this afternoon 5 printed canvases was distributed to the Minister for Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment Mr. Flavien Joubert, Principal Secretary Mr. Alain Decomarmond and representatives from the Blue Economy, Nature Conservancy, and Seycaat. @seyccat @jamesdupres
