The newly accredited ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Seychelles, Sasirit Tangulrat, paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment, Mr Flavien Joubert, at Le Chantier Mall last Thursday 16th September.
Minister Joubert welcomed Ambassador Tangulrat to the Seychelles and showed appreciation for the long and good bilateral cooperation that have existed between the two countries”. He stated that there are opportunities to strengthen the ties between. the two countries`
On her part, the ambassador stated that this year marks the 33rd anniversary of diplomatic relations and that the two countries will continue to support each other in the field of Environment and Agriculture.
Both parties had lengthy discussions on various aspects of agriculture and environment. The Thai Ambassador agreed to provide support in assisting SIYAH with its curriculum. Other areas of support include building the capacities of VET and also extension network services through collaboration of an agricultural college will be established as well as Trade negotiations. The Thailand Government will continue to provide support to Seychelles Parks and Garden Authority and to take this relationship to another level.
Thailand-were also willing to support the Bio–Circular–Green Economic Model or BCG introduced by the research community and promoted by the Thai government as a new economic model for inclusive and sustainable growth.
